Our Memorial Rides

 

Each year between 10 and 15 cyclists, all active or retired law enforcement personnel and survivors of law enforcement violence, covers a route with daily stops for memorial services.  Services are held with the cooperation of agencies and families of the fallen heroes.  Past ride routes:

2015 Inaugural Ride - Indianapolis, IN to Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA. Memorial stops were made in Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia.

2016 Ride - Manhattan 9-11 Memorial to Philadelphia, PA.  Stops at White Plains, NY; Poughkeepsie, NY; The US Military Academy at West Point, NY; and Trenton, NJ.

2017 Ride - New Orleans, LA to Nashville, TN.  Stops in Slidell, LA; Hattiesburg, MS; Grenada, MS; and Tupelo, MS.

2018 Ride - Birmingham, AL to Charleston, SC.  Services in Anniston, AL; Kennesaw, GA; Atlanta, GA; Thomson, GA; Augusta, GA; and Savannah, GA.

2019 Spring Ride - Wilmington, NC to Richmond, VA.  Stops included Camp Lejeune, NC Cape Hatteras, NC Currituck County, NC Suffolk, VA Williamsburg, VA, and Richmond VA.

2019 Autumn Ride - Fort Collins, CO to Albuquerque, NM. Stops at Lakewood, CO Denver, CO Douglas County, CO Colorado Springs, CO Pueblo, CO Trinidad, CO Alamosa, CO, and Santa Fe, NM.

2021 Coast to Coast Ride - Titusville, FL to St Petersburg, FL. Memorial stops were made at the American Police Hall of Fame, Lake County, Pasco County, Hernando County, Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, and 9/11 Memorial Maderia Beach, FL.

2022 Spring Break Ride - Tampa Bay Florida Tri-County Area. Memorial stops were made at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Game Commission, Curlew Hills Memorial Gardens, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, and Belleair Police Department.

2022 Greater Alleghany Passage Ride - Pittsburg, PA to Cumberland, MD. Memorial stops were made at Bethel Park Police Department, Pittsburgh, PA Police Department, FBI Pittsburgh, McKeesport, PA Police Department, Flight 93 National Memorial, and Cumberland, MD Police Department.

2023 K9 Memorial Ride - In March 2023, members of The Honor Roll rode to the Law Enforcement K9 Memorial Service held at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens Pet Cemetery, Palm Harbor, FL.  K9 service dogs and their handlers from Clearwater Police Department and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office were in attendance.

2023 West Virginia Ride - Elkins, WV to Cumberland, MD. Memorial stops were made at Elkins Police Department, Elkins, WV, National Park Service at the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, Glen Jean, WV.  We met with the family and friends of US Deputy Marshal Derek W. Hotsinpiller in Bridgeport, WV.  Additional stops were made at Shinnston Police Department, WV, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Fairmont WV, and Morgantown Police Department, WV.

2024 Big Sky Ride - Spokane, WA to Jackson, WY. Memorial stops were made at the Spokane Regional Law Enforcement Memorial, WA, the K27 Coeur D’Alene Police Memorial, ID, the Shoshone County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, Wallace, ID, the Broadwater County Sheriff’s Office, Townsend, MT, the U.S. Forest Service, Hungry Horse, MT, and for the MT Highway Patrol, Three Rivers, MT. Memorial services for Law Enforcement Rangers from the National Park Service were held in Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.   POLICE 1 News Article

The Honor Roll spring trip is held in the beginning of May so riders can participate in National Police Week and other law enforcement memorial bike rides, such as Law Enforcement United, Police Unity Tour, and Bike 2 DC.


We encourage families, co-workers, and friends to ride along with us.
